Se encuentran abiertas las inscripciones para el primer Caribbean Film Mart (Mercado del Cine Caribeño), que tendrá lugar del 24 al 27 de septiembre, dentro del marco del Festival de Cine de Trinidad y Tobago (ttff). El nuevo; mercado de cine caribeño estará dedicado a filmes de ficción y documentales que se encuentren en fase de desarrollo o en la etapa de preproducción.

El Caribbean Film Mart tiene como objetivo fomentar las relaciones del cine caribeño con la industria cinematográfica internacional, a través del estímulo a la realización de proyectos viables de coproducción.

Los cineastas seleccionados tendrán la oportunidad de sostener encuentros y mostrar sus proyectos a productores, comisionados fílmicos, agentes de venta, y representantes de fondos y ayudas; lo que les permitirá establecer alianzas para la producción y distribución de sus filmes.

Los proyectos presentados deben encontrarse en etapa de desarrollo o preproducción, y ser realizados en el Caribe. Igualmente, el productor o el realizador de los filmes debe ser ciudadano de un país caribeño, o miembros de la diáspora caribeña, o bien un cineasta internacional que resida o trabaje en el Caribe.

La inscripción de los proyectos debe realizarse online, y la fecha límite para la presentación de los mismos será el 22 de mayo de 2015, sin necesidad del pago de cuota de inscripción alguna. El evento se realizará en inglés, aunque se proporcionará servicio de traducción siempre que sea necesario. Los materiales que acompañen a la presentación de los proyectos deben ser entregados en este idioma.

El Caribbean Film Mart es organizado conjuntamente con la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo de la Republica Dominicana (FUNGLODE), la Asociación para el Desarrollo del Cinema de Arte y Ensayo en Guadalupe (APCAG), la Fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano (FNCL) y el Festival Regional e Internacional de Cine de Guadalupe (FEMI).

El proyecto ha sido cofinanciado por el Cultures+ Programme de la ACP, financiado por la Unión Europea e implementado por  Grupo de Estados de la ACP.

El ttff está dedicado a celebrar el cine del Caribe, su diáspora, y la cinematografía internacional, a través de un evento anual, que incluye también eventos y presentaciones a lo largo de todo el año. El ttff busca además propiciar el crecimiento del cine caribeño al ofrecer un amplio programa dedicado a la industria y ofrecer oportunidades para la creación de plataformas de contacto.

The call for submissions for the inaugural Caribbean Film Mart, which will take place from 24-27 September 2015, is now open.

The Caribbean Film Mart will be in held Port of Spain during the 10th edition of the trinidad+tobago film festival (ttff), and is seeking Caribbean fiction feature films and creative documentaries in development or pre-production.

The primary goal of the Caribbean Film Mart is to foster direct relationships between the Caribbean and the international film industry, by stimulating and creating viable cinematic co-productions.

The selected filmmakers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with, and pitch their projects to, international film producers, film commissioners, sales agents and film funds, forging partnerships that can lead to the production and distribution of their films. The Mart will include panel discussions, networking receptions and a location tour, and participants will also be invited to attend the ttff/15 awards ceremony.

All applications must be for projects in development or pre-production to be made in the Caribbean. Either the producer or the director must be a Caribbean citizen or resident, or from the Caribbean diaspora, or an international filmmaker living and working in the Caribbean.

All submissions for the Caribbean Film Mart must be made online here, no later than 22 May 2015. There is no submission fee.

The Caribbean Film Mart will be held in English, with interpreters provided as needed. Application materials should be submitted in English.

The Caribbean Film Mart is being implemented in association with the Fundación Global Democracia y Dessarollo from the Dominican Republic, the Association for the Development of Art Cinema and Practice in Guadeloupe, the Foundation of New Latin American Cinema and the Festival Régional et International du Cinéma de Guadeloupe.

The trinidad+tobago film festival (ttff) celebrates films from and about the Caribbean and its diaspora, as well as from world cinema, through an annual festival and year-round screenings. In addition, the ttff seeks to facilitate the growth of Caribbean cinema by offering a wide-ranging industry programme and networking opportunities.
