Hernán Jiménez (1980-) is Costa Rican actor, film and theate director and producer. He lived abroad for many years, when he returned to Costa Rica, he got engaged in projects for different media such as television, film and theater, and also has written screenplays.
He directed the television program El show de la Media Docena, the documentary Doble llave y cadena, prizewinner at the representative film sample of Costa Rica as best author’s work, best soundtrack, best editing, Audience Award, or Averia de la conciencia (Best art direction, best actress), Las ganas (best actor, best edition, best screenplay), Una tarde cualquiera (Official Selection: International short Film Festival of Sao Paulo, International Short Film Festival of Miami, International Festival Icaro and Film Festival of New Orleans). He also wrote a highly praised theater play Hablando se entiende la gente, and a stand up comedy, Al derecho y al revés, which filled up theatres and bars.
His first author’s work was the feature film A ojos cerrados (2008), a low budget film, made in a few weeks that was chosen for the Work in Progress section of the Berlin Film Festival in 2009.
