    Estudió Comunicaciones en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, e hizo estudios de postgrado en el Victorian College of Arts, de Australia. Tiene su propio show radial y trabajó eventualmente en publicidad cuando estudiaba en la universidad. Sus cortos Easier Rider, Ring y Happy endings han ganado premios en numerosos festivales. Su primer largometraje de ficción, Hermano, fue seleccionado por Montreal, Varsovia, Shanghai y Viña del Mar, y resultó premiado en Moscú y el Festival Latino de los Ángeles.


    Marcel Rasquin is a young Venezuelan filmmaker with an obsession for movies and storytelling. He studied Broadcast Communications in the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas and got both a Post-Graduate Diploma and a Masters Degree in Film & TV in the Victorian College of the Arts in Australia.

    He wound cables, searched locations, produced television and advertisement, conducted his own radio show, and he became one of the top advertising directors in the Venezuelan industry.

    His short films Easier Rider, Ring and Happy Endings have been screened and recognized in Film Festivals in Melbourne, Sydney, New York, Chicago, Beijing, Caracas, etc. The Circle of Critics of Australia recognized him with the Best Emerging Talent in Direction Award in 2005 and his short film Happy Endings won, among other things, the Best Film award at the VCA screenings in 2004 and the Best Short Film in the Latino Film Festival in Chicago in 2007.
