Luis Naguil
(Uruguay, 1965)
Egresado de la segunda promoción de la EICTV (1988-1991) en la especialidad de dirección. Realizó un curso en la FEMIS, Francia (1990). Estudió Ciencias de la Comunicación en Uruguay. Desde 1994 vive en Costa Rica y desarrolla su actividad profesional mayormente en Centroamérica y el Caribe. Es fundador de Arte y Maña Producciones, Taxi Films (Costa Rica, El Salvador y Panamá) y Cinerent de Centroamérica, con las que produce y filma campañas publicitarias, documentales y videos musicales en la región.
Posee experiencia docente (Encuadre, ENU Uruguay) y ha integrado diversas comisiones, jurados y grupos de trabajo (Comisión Nacional de Cinematografía del Ministerio de Cultura, Juventud y Deportes Costa Rica, Comisión de redacción del plan de Estudios de Ciencias de la Comunicación UR Uruguay, Jurado Premio SAU Uruguay, Jurado Muestra de Cine y Video Costa Rica, Consejo Asesor Fondo Cinergia). La video creación Pronóstico del Tiempo y el documental Guatemala, Muchachos del 99 (un mensaje a los jóvenes) son trabajos galardonados en la Muestra de Cine y Video de Costa Rica y el Festival ICARO de Guatemala. Es Miembro del Consejo Superior de la Fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano.
The Uruguayan filmmaker Luis Naguil graduate from the International Film and Television School (EICTV) of San Antonio de los Baños, Havana, Cuba, in the direction specialization, as member of this school second promotion (1988-1991). He made a course in FEMIS, France in 1990. He also studied communication science in Uruguay. Since 1994 he lives in Costa Rica and develops his professional activities mainly in Central America and the Caribbean. The filmmaker is is founder of Arte y Maña Producctions,Taxi Films (Costa Rica, Salvador and Panama) and Cinerent of Central America, with which he has produced and directed advertising campaigns, documentaries and music videos in the region.
The filmmaker has a teaching experience as professor (Encuadre, ENU Uruguay) and he has also taken part in several film commissions, juries and working groups (Costa Rica National Film Commission of Culture, Youth and Sport Ministry, he also participated at the design commission of the curriculum of the Communication Science studies at the UR of Uruguay, He was member of the Jury of the SAU Prize in Uruguay and at the Costa Rica Film and Video show, The video work Pronóstico del Tiempo and the Guatemalan documentary, Muchachos del 99 (a message to the youth) are all works that were winners at the Costa Rica Film and Video Showcase and the Guatemalan Festival ICARO. Naguil is member of the Superior Council of the New Latin American Cinema Fundation.
