    Inicia su carrera como cineasta en el INCINE, con la realización del Noticiero No. 46, Rompiendo el silencio (1984), donde se registraba el desarrollo del proyecto de telecomunicaciones que uniría la Costa Atlántica con el resto del país. Con este documental recibió importantes premios en el Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana. Dos años más tarde realizó Mujeres de la frontera, donde documentaba la reforma agraria y la participación de las mujeres en la Revolución. Otros títulos de su filmografía son Esta tierra es ese hombre (1984) y Días de crisis (1988).



    Iván Argüello began his career as filmmaker in INCINE, with the direction of the newsreel No. 46, Rompiendo el silencio (1984), where registered the development of the telecommunication project that would joint the Atlantic coast with the rest of the country. With this documentary he received important awards at the International film Festival of the New Latin American Cinema in Havana. Two years later, he made Mujeres de la frontera, where he documented the agrarian reform and the women participation in the revolution. Others titles of his filmography are Esta tierra es ese hombre (1984) and Días de crisis (1988).
