    Natural de Minas Gerais, estudió Historia del Arte en la Universidad Federal de Minas. En 1985 participó en Río de Janeiro en un curso básico de animación, que ofrecieron expertos del National Film Board do Canada (NFBC). Durante este curso produjo su primer corto de animación, Nocturno, ganador del premio Coral al mejor corto de animación, en el Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana. En 1987 continúa un curso de animación avanzado que también ofrece el NFBC y en ese momento participa en la realización del filme Alex, un trabajo de un colectivo de animadores que posteriormente fue premiado en los festivales de La Habana y Espinho.

    En 1989 fundó, conjuntamente con Cesar Coelho, Campo 4 Desenhos e Ilustrasções, considerada la productora más importante de animación tradicional de Río de Janeiro, que tiene, entre sus clientes, a Rede Globo, el Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil e os Correios, entre otros. Creó con Cesar Coelho, Léa Zagury y Margos Magalhãnes el festival Anima Mundi, dedicado a la animación, que se realiza anualmente desde 1993 y que ya está considerado como el mayor festival dedicado al mundo de la animación que se realiza en América Latina, uno de los cinco más importantes del mundo.

    Entre otros filmes que ha dirigido se destacan los cortos A casa (1989), Tá limpo! (1999) y en corealización con Cesar Coelho y Margos Magalhãnes Petróleo! Petróleo! (2002).




    Aida Queiroz, born in Minas Gerais, studied Art history at Minas Federal University. In 1985 she took a basic animation course in Río that was offered by experts of the National Film Board of Canada (NFBC). During this course he produced her first animated short, Nocturno, winner of the Coral award to the animated short film at the International Festival of the New Latin American Cinema in Havan, Cuba. In 1987 she took a advance animation course, also offered by the National Film Board of Canada. It is in this moment that she took part in the realization of the film Alex, a collective work of animator that later on was awarded in the film festivals of Havana and Espinho.

    In 1989 she founded , together with Cesar Coelho, Campo 4 Desenhos e Ilustrasções, considered as the most important production company of tradicional animation of Rio de Janeiro, which counted  among its clients to the Rede Globo, The cultural Center Banco do Brasil, among others. She was the founder with Cesar Coelho, Léa Zagury and Margos Magalhãnes of the film festival Anima Mundi, dedicated to animation that takes place annually since 1993 and is considered the greatest film festival dedicated to animation in Latin America, and one the five most important animation film festivals of the world.

    Among the film she has directed stand out the short films A casa (1989), Tá limpo! (1999) and Petróleo! (2002), codirected with Cesar Coelho and Margos Magalhãnes Petróleo!
