    Una joven pueblerina decide marcharse hacia la ciudad para trabajar como doméstica en una casa de familia rica. Allí empieza a conocer lo que verdaderamente se esconde detrás de las aspiraciones de muchas muchachas que, como ella, desean hacer una carrera como cantante.

    A dreamy and ingenuous peasant arrives at Santo Domingo with the dream to succeed as an artist, but the selfishness of several people linked to her try to impede her from achieving her goals. She rejects to accept indecent proposals that conform the culture of the world of show business in society, and defends her honor and her reputation to the end when she manages to show her talent with marginal help, and while at times a rebel towards those who believe in her.
