    A mi lado sigue tres jóvenes mujeres las cuales luchan para sobrevivir en la Chureca, el basurero más grande de Centroamérica. Dominga tiene Sida y lucha para establecer una relación con su hijo el cual le fue arrebatado al nacer. Fabiola de 11 años esta en una encrucijada entre el quedarse con su madre o irse de la Chureca con un grupo Cristiano Evangélico. Con tan solo 19 años, Maryuri tiene problemas de salud y corre el riesgo de perder su bebe. En su búsqueda de una mejor vida, las tres jóvenes mujeres tendrán que determinar si sus madres son sus mejores aliadas o sus peores enemigas.

    By My Side follows three young women living at Central America’s largest garbage dump, la Chureca, in Managua who are battling for their lives. Dominga has terminal Aids and tries to re-establish a relationship with her son who was taken away from her at birth. Maryuri, 19, has health problems and is at risk of losing the child she is expecting. Eleven year-old Fabiola is caught in a struggle between loyalty to her mother, and a group of evangelical Christians advocating for her to join a youth center far from the garbage dump. In their struggle for a better life, the three young women will have to decide whether their mothers are their best allies or their unexpected enemies.
