Nace en Santa Cruz, en 1978. Integra el elenco de Casateatro por cuatro años consecutivos, participando además en talleres del Teatro de Los Andes. En 1997, se fue a Estados Unidos para estudiar Cine y Artes Visuales en el Ithaca College, en Nueva York. Allí realiza su primer cortometraje, Forlorn (Solo), con el cual gana dos premios en los festivales de Rochester y Miami y obtuvo un auspicio de Kodak Film para filmar cortos en 16 milímetros.
Su tercer corto, Destierro, fue nominado a un premio por la Academia de Artes Cinematográficas de Estados Unidos. Su cuarto corto titulado Sexo causó muchas controversias, y fue exhibido en más de 45 festivales de cine en el mundo. Poco después filma su ópera prima, Dependencia sexual, estrenada en 2003, y con la cual gana premios y reconocimientos en los festivales de Locarno (Premio de la Crítica Internacional), Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Montevideo, Seúl, Providence, San Francisco y Gran Canaria.

Rodrigo Bellott (1978-) was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. He was part of the cast of the theater company Casateatro for four consecutive years and he also participated in the workshops of Teatro de Los Andes. In 1997, he travels to the United States of America to take studies in film and visual arts at the Ithaca College in New York. There, he directed his first short film, Forlorn (Solo), winner of two prizes at the Rochester and Miami Festival respectively. He also got an sponsorship from Kodak Film to make 16 mm short length movies.
His third short film, Destierro, was nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the U.S.A. His fourth short film, Sexo, was very controversial and was exhibited in more than 45 film festivals around the world. Shortly after that, he made his first work, Dependencia sexual, released in 2003, which won prizes and recognition in film festivals as Locarno (International Critics Award), Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Montevideo, Seoul, Providence, San Francisco and Gran Canaria.
In 2006, he directed another narrative feature film ¿Quién mató a la llamita blanca?, which used elements of the Western genre to make a satire of the social and political reality of Bolivia. The film was successfully screen in numerous international film festivals and has received prizes at some of them like the Roque Dalton award of Radio Habana Cuba at the 29th edition of Havana International Festival of the New Latin American cinema (Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano) and in 2007, and the honorable mention at the 15th edition of CINESUL - Iberian-American Film and Video Festival (Festival Íbero-Americano de Cinema e Vídeo) in 2008
