    Documentalista salvadoreño, alumno del cineasta cubano Santiago Álvarez  y del argentino Fernando Birri. Obtuvo un Premio Coral en el Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana, y un premio RAL (Red de Televisoras de América Latina) por su documental Herido de sombras (1994). Su filme experimental Cuando yo soñaba un mundo al revés obtuvo una Mención Especial del Jurado en el Festival Internacional de CADIZ DOC 2005. Su obra más reciente es el documental Entre los muertos (2006), con el que mereció el tercer premio al mejor documental centroamericano en el Festival ICARO de cine y vídeo centroamericano  de ese año.




    The Salvadorian documentary filmmaker Jorge Dalton García studied with Cuban filmmaker Santiago Álvarez and Argentinean Fernando Birri. He was awarded with the Coral Prize at the Havana International Festival of the New Latin American Cinema and a prize RAL (Latin American Television Network) for his documentary Herido de sombras. His experimental film Cuando yo soñaba un mundo al revés got a special mention from the jury at the International Festival Cadiz Doc 2005. His documentary work Entre los muertos (2006) was the winner of the third award for the Best Central America Documentary at the ICARO Film and Video Festival in Central America (Festival Ícaro de Cine y Video en Centroamérica) in that year.
