Director de cine y guionista nacido en la ciudad de Girardot, Colombia. Realizó estudios de Publicidad en la Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano (1976-1979), Administración de Empresas, Universidad Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora Del Rosario (1976-1979) y Art and Technique of Film Making, London International Film School, (1982-1984) Londres, donde se graduó con Distinción en Cinematografía.
Su carrera como realizador se inició con los cortometrajes Ivetus (1982) y Percival (1983). La gente del Universal (1993), su primer largometraje de ficción, recibió una cálida acogida por parte de la crítica y el público colombiano. En 2006 vuelve a las pantallas con El Colombian dream, reflexión alrededor de la plata fácil que se evidenció en Colombia con la llegada del narcotráfico.
Aljure ha expresado su interés por reflejar en sus películas, desde la innovación técnica y narrativa, la sociedad colombiana y los seres humanos tal como son, con sus virtudes y sus defectos, a partir de todo lo que les ha tocado vivir.
Ha incursionado también como director de series para la televisión, docente universitario y en otros ámbitos culturales del país. Fue el primer Director Nacional de Cinematografía del Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia. Igualmente, diseñó el Fondo Mixto de Promoción Cinematográfica y fue Miembro de la Junta Directiva del mismo entre 1997 y 2000.
Felipe Aljure is a Colombian filmmaker and screenwriter, born in the city of Girardot. He did advertising studies at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogota (1976 -1979), business studies at the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario University (1976-1979) and art and technique of filmmaking in London, England, where he took an honor degree in film.
He began his career as filmmaker with the short films Ivetus (1982) and Percival (1983). La gente del Universal (1993) was his first narrative feature film, which received a warm reception of the Colombian audience and critic. In 2006 he returned to the big screen with The Colombian dream, a reflection on the easy money-making that appeared in Colombia with the arrival of the drug trafficking.
Through the use of technical and narrative innovations, Aljure has expressed his interest to reflect in his movies the Colombian society and human beings just like they are, with their virtues and faults, and within the environment that they have to live in.
He has also directed some TV series and has made incursions as university professor and in other areas of Colombian culture. He was the first National Director of the Film Industry at the Colombian Culture Ministry. He also designed the Fondo Mixto de Promoción Cinematografíca (Mixed Fund for Film Promotion) and was member of its board of directors from 1997 to 2000.
