Graduado de la Especialidad de Dirección en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Participó en el Taller de efectos visuales analógicos y generados digitalmente, impartido por los realizadores de estos efectos en los filmes Indiana Jones, ET, El Rey León, Titanic y Godzilla, entre otros. Es miembro de la UNEAC (Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba), y del Movimiento Nacional de Video. Entre los títulos de su obra literaria se encuentran los cuentos Al fin, el fin, Pirámide, Cemento negro cimiento, Cuento de Historias Negras y Stand-Art; también los ensayos Estoy tratando de decir que..., Cine Independiente, Cine Dependiente y la novela Mar Rojo, Mal Azul. En 2001 recibe una beca en el Lee Strasberg Theater Insitute, y una beca Guggenheim en el 2009, ambas en Nueva York Estados Unidos. En el 2010 regresa a la Habana, donde filma su tercer largometraje. Trabaja como camarógrafo free lance, e imapartiendo talleres y conferecias sobre cine digital, mientras continúa realizando su obra cinematográfica fuera de los circuitos de producción tradicionales.

He graduated from the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba as a film director. He participated in the workshop of analogical and digitally generated visual effects, given by the makers of these effects in the films Indiana Jones, ET, The Lion King, Titanic and Godzilla, among others. He’s a member of UNEAC (National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba), AHS (Hermanos Saiz Association) and the National Video Movement. Among the titles of his literary work there are the stories Al fin, el fin, Pirámide, Cemento negro cimiento, Cuento de Historias Negras and Stand-Art, also the essays Estoy tratando de decir que... and Cine Independiente, Cine Dependiente and the novel Mar Rojo, Mal Azul. From 2001 to 2010 he spent most of the time in New York starting with a scholarship at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and finishing with a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2009 . In 2010 he returned to Havana where he is filming his third feature, Corazón Azul. He works as a freelance cameraman and has imparted several workshops on digital filmmaking while writing, directing, photographing and editing his films outside the traditional production circuits.
