    Santiago de Chile, 1979. Artista múltifacético, por su trabajo en pintura, dibujo y música popular. En Montreal hizo su primera exposición de dibujos y fundó una banda musical. De regreso a Chile debuta en el largometraje de ficción con la cinta La vida me mata (2007), con numerosos premios en Chile. La nana es su segundo largometraje, multipremiado en los festivales más importantes de su país e internacionalmente.



    Sebastián Silva, born in 1979 in Santiago, Chile, is a multifaceted artist  who has worked in painting, drawing and popular music. He made his first drawings exhibition in Montreal, Canada; where he also founded a musical band. When he returned to Chile he debuted in the narrative feature film with La vida me mata, which received a lot of Prizes in Chile.

    His second feature film, La nana, became one of the most awarded Chilean films of all times. The film won the awards for best film at festivals as and Huelva, Lima and Sundance, and it was equally recognized at different categories of Iberian-American and international film festivals: Guadalajara (FICG), Havana, Cartagena de Indias, Fribourg, and the the Golden Globes in categories as best director, best screenplay and art direction. Specially remarkable was the performance of its leading actress Catalina Saavedra awarded at film festivals such as Miami, Sundance and nominated to the Golden Globes In the US.
