60 millas al Este, el primer reality film dominicano que llega a los cines60 millas al Este, fue presentada en una gala premier en la Cinemateca Nacional Dominicana ante invitados especiales, personalidades, así como cineastas dominicanos. La historia de Jorge Lendeborg relata la realidad por la que atraviesan dominicanos que intentan llegar a Puerto Rico en frágiles embarcaciones. La cinta se exhibirá a través del Circuito de Cine Digital en más de 20 pueblos.
El primer reality film dominicano se proyectará para todo el público a partir del 29 de mayo de 2008. El nuevo trabajo cinematográfico de Lendeborg, que ya ha sido exhibido con éxito en festivales internacionales, será difundido en las salas del Palacio del Cine, los Caribbean Cinema, así como en el Circuito de Cine Digital que dirige Ángel Muñiz en todo el territorio nacional.
La cinta relata la dramática historia de veintiocho dominicanos que arriesgan sus vidas al abordar frágiles embarcaciones para tratar de llegar a Puerto Rico atravesando el canal de La Mona.
60 millas al Este, más que una película es una realidad contada en imágenes y movimiento por el director de cine Jorge Lendeborg, quien combina magistralmente los hechos reales con la ficción, logrando así una impactante producción del cine latino.
“Todos los pormenores de la organización de un viaje en Yola, desde los reclutamientos de los viajeros, construcción de la yola, planificación del viaje, travesía en los montes, corrupción de las autoridades, testimonios de los viajeros hasta captar con el lente de la cámara lo que sucede en un viaje a Puerto Rico”, explicó Lendeborg.
Lendeborg informó que su trabajo visual revela la realidad de los hechos, sin actores ni libreto, más bien los protagonistas son verdaderos dominicanos que anteriormente habían intentado el viaje, algunos hasta 10 veces y que en ese momento gestionaban irse nuevamente en yola hacia Puerto Rico.
Jorge Lendeborg, ahora se embarca en su segundo proyecto cinematográfico. 60 millas al Este es el primer reality film dominicano que llega a los cines.

60 millas al Este was released in a gala premiere in the Dominican National Film Archive with the presence of special guests, great personalities and also Dominican filmmakers. The Jorge Lendeborg´s story tells the reality that suffers the Dominicans who try to arrive to Puerto Rico in fragile vessels. The film will be shown through the digital film circuit in more than 20 towns.
The first Dominican reality film will be screened for the public from May 29, 2008. The new film work by Lendeborg, which has been already successfully shown at international film festival, and will be screened in the halls of the Film Palace, the Caribbean Cinema, and also so in the digital film circuit that directs Ángel Muñiz in the national territory.
The film tells the tragic story of eight Dominicans who risk their lives boarding fragile boats to try to arrive to Puerto Rico crossing the Mona channel.
60 millas al Este, more than a film is a reality told through images and movement by the director Jorge Lenderborg, who combines brilliantly the real facts with the fiction, achieving in this way an impressive Latin film production.
Every details of the organization of a trip in yawl, since the traveler´s recruitment, the constructions of the yola, the planning of the trip, the crossing through the scrublands, the authorities’ corruption and the travelers’ testimonies until the lens captures what happened during a trip to Puerto Rico” explained Lendeborg.
Lendeborg informed that his visual work reveals the real facts, without actors and screenplay; the stars are true Dominicans who had attempted this trip before, some of them up to 10 times and who at that moment were trying to travel again in yola to Puerto Rico.
Jorge Lendeborg, is now involved in his second film project. 60 millas al Este is the first Dominican reality film that arrives to the cinemas.
