Claudia Llosa anuncia su segunda películaPor Pamela SchulzGracias al apoyo del World Cinema Fund, Claudia Llosa está rodando una nueva película, La teta asustada.Claudia Llosa tiene 30 años, es peruana y pariente del escritor Mario Vargas Llosa. Estudió comunicaciones, publicidad, guión, cine y radio. Trabajó de creativa publicitaria en Perú, juntó dinero y en el 2001 se fue a estudiar guión de cine en Madrid. Terminó quedándose allá. Como trabajo de master escribió el guión de Madeinusa, historia de una muchacha indígena que vive en un pueblo andino del Perú. El relato se basa en la superstición, la tradición, la religión y el realismo mágico existentes en esa aldea.
En el 2003 envió el guión al Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de la Habana.Y se ganó 125.000 dólares del concurso, para hacer la película. Sin tener nada de experiencia, buscó apoyo de una productora española y se puso a dirigir sin haberlo hecho jamás. Ahora está representando a su país como candidata a un Oscar.
La teta asustada es el proyecto con el que ganó el World Cinema Fund y la suma de 50.000 euros. La historia se basa en una creencia arcaica o leyenda que tiene que ver con una enfermedad que afecta por generaciones a mujeres que fueron violadas. Claudia rodará en julio y agosto de este año en el Perú. Deutsche Welle conversó con la realizadora peruana.
DW: ¿Qué pasó con Madeinusa?
Madeinusa generó en mi país mucha polémica, pero tuvo éxito comercial. Pude distribuirla y venderla. Se estrenó en Alemania, Holanda, México, Suiza y Perú. Próximamente se estrenará en EUA y ya fue comprada también en Brasil.¿Se puede vivir del cine?
En un país como el mío, la industria cinematográfica no está nada desarrollada, no permite ingresos como para poder vivir de ello. Se hacen tan sólo tres o cuatro películas por año. Por el momento estoy muy contenta de vivir en España y de poder acceder a las coproducciones españolas. A nivel económico es difícil ser cineasta, no es estable, aunque ahora vivo del cine.
¿Por qué el nombre La teta asustada?
El tema está atado al nombre, no quiero adelantar demasiado…
¿Por qué crees que hay menos mujeres directoras de cine?
El cine ha sido muy masculino, por eso hay pocas directoras, pero sí hay mujeres que hacen producción y montaje. Las cabezas principales son siempre hombres, razones de la historia en general…que ya conocemos... Pero gracias a Dios ha cambiado en estos últimos diez años.

Thanks to the support of World Cinema Fund, Claudia Llosa is filming a new film, La teta asustada.This woman filmmaker is 30 years old, Peruvian and relative of the writer Mario Vargas Llosa. She studied communications, publicity, screenplay, filmmaking and radio. She worked as advertising creator in Peru and in 2001 she saved some money to go to Madrid to study screenplay. His Master paper she wrote the screenplay of the feature film Madeinusa, an indigenous girl's story who lives in an Andean town of Peru. The story is based in the superstition, the tradition, the religion and the magic realism existing in that village.
In 2003, she sent this screenplay to New Latin American cinema Festival in Havana. And she won125.000 dollars of the competition to make the film. Without any previous experience, she looked for the support of a Spanish production company and began to direct even when she had not made it before. Now she is representing her country as candidate to an Oscar, the Academy Award.
La teta asustada is the project with which she won the World Cinema Fund and the sum of 50.000 euros. The story is based on an archaic belief or legend that has to do with an illness that affects for generations to women who were raped Claudia will shoot in July and August of this year in Peru. The Deutsche Welle radio station talked with the Peruvian film director.
DW: What did it happen with Madeinusa?
Madeinusa generated in my country much polemic, but it was a commercial success. I could distribute and sell it. It was released in Germany, Holland, Mexico, Switzerland and Peru. it will be released soon in the U.S.A. and was already bought also by Brazil.
-It is possible to make a living by filmmaking?
In a country like mine, the film industry is little developed and does not allow incomes to make a living from them. Only three or four films are made every year. By now, I am very happy of living in Spain and being able to access to the Spanish coproductions. At an economic level it is difficult to be a filmmaker, it is not steady, although now I am making a living by filmmaking.
Why the name of La teta asustada?
The plot is tied to the tittle, I do not want to advance too much.
Why do you believe that there are fewer women film directors?
The cinema has been very masculine, for that reason there are few women directors, but there are women that make production and editing. The main heads are always men, the reasons of which is due to history in general .... that we already know... But thanks to God that has changed in the last ten years.
