Yo estoy por un cine que cuente cosas y conmuevaPor Alejandro Doria
Hay mucho cine con el que la gente se comunica. Nosotros, por ejemplo en Argentina, tenemos el problema de que el cine que más espectadores da es una película con el cómico de moda y son películas que se filman en tres semanas, con libros que se improvisan, que ni siquiera se escriben, se improvisan y son películas que meten millón y medio de espectadores, con los que la gente se va a divertir. Ese cine no deja frío al espectador, pero yo me refería a un cine en que el director pueda colocar cosas en las que crea, un cine que busque la realidad de lo que está pasando, de lo que vive el mundo.
A mi no me importa la forma, ni lo rica que sea una película, ni lo imperfecto que sea un guión. Cuando la película se logra alcanza lo más importante que tiene el cine, que es comunicarse con la platea. Una película puede ser perfecta, maravillosa en términos cinematográficos, contada con las mejores leyes de la cinematografía, pero si la audiencia permanece fría, para mí esa película no sirve. Yo estoy por el cine caliente. El que cuenta cosas y conmueve al espectador aunque sea imperfecto. Eso es lo que yo quiero hacer. Y en el caso de Darse cuenta, con sus imperfecciones que yo, en primer lugar reconozco, valoro el sentido de la película, valoro lo que logró en la audiencia. Logró que la gente aplauda esa historia acaecida.
Hoy en día la gente se moviliza con la violencia por supuesto. Pero creo que eso es uno de los males con los que tenemos que luchar los que trabajamos en esto. Como también pienso yo, sucede en los países latinoamericanos con el triunfo absoluto de las telenovelas. De esas telenovelas de muy baja calidad que son las que más audiencias tienen generalmente en los países. Y yo siempre digo que el problema no es en las televisiones de los países latinoamericanos con borrar las telenovelas, porque evidentemente hay un público de muy bajo nivel intelectual que es el principal consumidor de esas telenovelas. Lo que creo que hay que hacer es que hay que mejorarlas, hay que contar en esas telenovelas historias que tengan que ver con los problemas de la gente. Historias que dejen un saldo positivo, no historias puramente efectistas.
Creo que la responsabilidad de cada uno de los que hacen cine está en lo que cuenta, si uno se siente responsable frente al mensaje que va a sembrar. Creo que la responsabilidad es individual de cada director, tener conciencia de lo que se está contando y a quién se lo cuenta, y tratar de contárselo a la mayor cantidad de gente posible. Pero eso siempre es distinto, como son distintas las personas o distintas las ideologías. Hay gente que le gusta Rocky IV, tenemos que hacerle frente a esa gente y contar otras historias logrando para nosotros ese público, que no es tan difícil.By Alejandro Doria
There is a lot of film which people communicates with. We, for example in Argentina, have the problem that the film that achieves more spectators is a film with the a popular comic actor, films which are shooted in three weeks, with scripts that are improvised and are not even scripted, they are films that reacg a million and a half of spectators, wish people see to have fun. That film does not leave the spectator indifferent, but I referred a film in which the director can introduce things in which he believes, a film that look for the reality of what is happening, of what the world is experiencing.
I do not care the style, or the rich a film could be, neither what imperfect its screenplay could be. When the film is fulfilled, it reaches the most important quality of a film has, to communicate with the audience. A film can be perfect, wonderful in cinematic terms, told with the best narratives techniques of filmmaking, but if the audience remains cold, for me that film is worthless. I am in favor of a hot film. The one that tells things and moves the spectator although it would be imperfect. That is what I want to make. And in the case of Darse cuenta, with its imperfections which, in the first place I recognize, I value the film meaning and what it achieved in the audience. It achieved that people acclaim this story.
Nowadays people mobilized of course with the violence. But I believe that is one of the problem against which the ones who work in this field have to fight with. As well as I think, it happens in the Latin American countries with the absolute victory of the soap operas. About those soap operas with a very low quality which are those that more audiences generally have in the countries. And I always say that the problem of Latin American televisions is not to erradicte them, because evidently there is a public with a very low intellectual level that is the main consumer of those soap operas. What I believe that is necessary to do is to improve them, it is necessary to tell in those soap opera stories that have to do with people's problems. Stories that leave a positive results, not a purely for dramatic effect.
I believe that the responsibility of each one of those that make film resides in what it tells, if one feels responsible with the message that is goinng to sow. I believe that the responsibility is individual of each director, to have conscience of what he is telling and to whom, and try to tell to the biggest quantity people is possible. But that is always different, in the same way that are different the people and the ideologies. There are people that enjoys Rocky IV, we have to face that people and tell different stories that manage to attract that audience that is not so difficult.
